Lincoln Co. Sheriff investigating carbon monoxide death

IVANHOE — The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is waiting for the results of an autopsy for a man who died Monday, from what appears to be carbon monoxide poisoning.

Around 6:44 a.m. Monday, the Sheriff’s Office received a report of an unresponsive person at a hog confinement barn in rural Royal Township, the Sheriff’s Office said. Tony Laleman, 33, of Ivanhoe, was pronounced dead at the scene, the Sheriff’s Office said. Laleman was a worker at the confinement facility.

Laleman was transported to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s office for an autopsy, the Sheriff’s Office said. Preliminary autopsy results indicated a lethal level of carbon monoxide, but final results of the autopsy are pending, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The Sheriff’s Office, the Ivanhoe Ambulance and the Lincoln County Coroner all responded at the scene.

Services for Laleman will be held Monday, June 11 at St. John Cantius Catholic Church in Wilno.
