Lily Htoo and August Moo, both of Marshall, talk about being refugees from Burma and living in southwest Minnesota Friday evening at the Lyon County Historical Museum. They were part of a panel of speakers who participated in a session titled “MinneAsian Stories.” The event was part of the May month long celebration of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. Members of the Coalition of Asian American Leaders presented along with Khou Lor and Ron Skjong of the Karen Organization of Minnesota.

MinneAsian Stories is a statewide storytelling campaign that celebrates Minnesota’s Asian American and Pacific Islander communities. A traveling exhibit will be on view at the museum next week.
