Contestants set up their stations in the parking lot of the SMSU R/A facility Friday for the 11th annual SMSU Smokefest competition

Competition officials said there will be 55 judges going around the lot at noon today to judge the 43-plus entries.

The Short Crew BBQ team is from Vermillion, South Dakota. It has competed in the SMSU Smokefest for four of the 11 years of the event. The team consists of Sarah Nigaard, Teri Nigaard and David Nigaard.
