Leininger accepts MLCL director position
MARSHALL – The Marshall-Lyon County Library will have a new director in the coming new year, the MLCL Board confirmed Thursday.
Finalist candidate Michele Leininger has accepted an offer for the library director position, said MLCL Board President Gwen Sturrock. The board and Marshall city staff are in the process of completing background and reference checks for Leininger, she said. If all goes well with the checks, Leininger will start work on Jan. 19.
The MLCL Board had voted to offer Leininger the director position after interviewing candidates on Monday. Leininger was one of two finalist candidates interviewed. She is currently a consultant with the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, Pa., and an instructor for the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Information Sciences. Leininger also has past work experience with at the Des Moines Public Library and the Pierce County Library System in Tacoma, Wash.
