Avera Research Receives $17.1 Million National Institutes of Health Grant

The Avera Research Institute’s Center for Pediatric and Community Research has been awarded a $17.1 million grant through the National Institutes of Health for its work on a children’s health study called the ECHO Program. The grant’s total, presented over five years, represents the largest health research funding award in South Dakota history. It will help Avera Research Institute implement its portion of the ECHO project, which has been under development and planning for the past two years. Fantasy sports site DraftKings files lawsuit over attack

BOSTON (AP) — Daily fantasy sports giant DraftKings says it was attacked last month with a denial of service that prevented customers from using its website for a short time. A federal judge in Massachusetts issued an order Friday allowing the company to seek the identities of those who launched a denial of service attack on Aug. 8. DraftKings says the attack involved overwhelming the site for more than 20 minutes with three times the number of requests for information it normally receives. Restaurant company building new corporate HQ in Georgia

ATLANTA (AP) — The corporate parent of restaurant franchises including Arby’s and Buffalo Wild Wings is building a new headquarters in a suburb of Atlanta. Gov. Nathan Deal’s office said Atlanta-based Inspire Brands plans to invest $32 million in a new corporate hub in Sandy Springs. The governor’s office says the move will bring more than 1,100 jobs to Sandy Springs in the metro Atlanta area. Inspire Brands was founded in February as a multi-brand restaurant company. Its portfolio includes more than 4,600 Arby’s, Buffalo Wild Wings and R Taco restaurants worldwide.
