ADM Marshall team steps up to erase hunger and poverty by ‘Moving for Good’
This fall, ADM, a global leader in innovative solutions from nature, partnered with the World Food Program to erase hunger by providing school meals and take-home rations for millions of children and families. In helping achieve this mission, ADM colleagues across the globe came together to get behind the cause to create impactful, lasting and measurable change in communities where ADM has a footprint.
Among the teams that made an impact in their local community was the ADM team from Marshall, which engaged in an initiative called “Moving for Good,” a wellness challenge where for every mile of exercise a Marshall ADM colleague logged from Sept. 15 through Oct. 5, a $10 donation was donated to a local charity.
Proceeds from this year’s initiative went to the United Community Action Partnership, a nonprofit organization in Marshall that offers innovative programs and services to address meeting basic needs, including education, employment training, affordable housing solutions and transportation services.
Over the course of 21 days during the “Moving for Good” challenge, 33 participants from the ADM Marshall team amassed 3,059 miles resulting in a $30,590 donation to the United Community Action Partnership. The team also conducted a food drive during that time, raising over $800 and collecting over 400 lbs. of food items for those in need.
“At ADM, we believe in the power of coming together to drive real, lasting change. Our efforts to support the United Community Action Partnership is a testament to the collective impact our team can make in addressing food security and basic needs,” said Eric McVey, plant manager for ADM Marshall. “Programs like ‘Moving for Good’ exemplify our commitment to community wellness and resilience, and we’re incredibly proud of our colleagues in Marshall for their dedication to this cause and their impressive contributions.”
ADM’s contribution for the erase hunger campaign was provided through ADM Cares, ADM’s corporate social investment program. The program helps sustain and strengthen communities where ADM colleagues work, live and operate by directing funding, volunteerism, and industry knowledge to initiatives and organizations that drive meaningful social, economic and environmental progress worldwide.
