Henderson joins HealthSource Chiropractic staff

HealthSource Chiropractic of Marshall is excited to announce the newest rehabilitation specialist, Josh Henderson, to the staff.

Henderson recently graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato with a degree in exercise science. Josh was an intern coach at Kato Crossfit while attending school.

His interest in the field of exercise science stems from rehabbing several sports related injuries and discovering the benefits that came with it.

In his free time, he enjoys working out, spending time outdoors hiking and fishing, and spending time with friends and family.

PIC announces retirement of Lauritsen, hiring of Bendix

Ghent receives small city grant

In 2016, the city of Ghent, working with Development Services, Inc., was awarded a Small City Development Program Grant through the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED). The goal of this program is to assist communities in providing safe, healthy and affordable homes for future generations. With this grant, the city of Ghent will be able to offer grant funding to assist home owners with the rehab of occupied houses.

The SCDP program is offered to homeowners through a mix of low-interest repayable loans based on household size and income. Eligible owners will be able to apply for up to $20,000 per home for eligible projects including: new siding, new shingles, improved insulation, updated plumbing and electrical, energy efficient windows, doors, and/or furnace, water heaters, foundations, handicap accessible items and removing lead paint and/or pipes.

Many communities who are awarded a SCDP Grant are only successful because of community members like you who have shown exceptional interest in rehabilitating their homes. Rehab opportunities with this grant are available to homeowners on a first come, first served basis, with a limited availability of openings. Although, this grant will not last forever, as the funding cycle will end in 2018 (or until the grant funds are spent, whichever comes first.) With that being said, what better time to act than now.

If you, or someone you know in your community, would like to fill out an application or would like more information about the SCDP Grant program, contact Jessica Gums at Development Services, Inc. (DSI), at 507-694-1552, visit the website at www.dsi-services.com, or find us on Facebook at Ghent Small Cities Development Program-SCDP.

DSI encourages participation to seek inclusion on the bidder’s list of the Program from local-, women- and minority- owned businesses such as contractors, suppliers, vendors, and other engaged in rehab-related enterprises.

Starting at $3.95/week.
