North Star announces promotions
Jon Brower, CPCU, has been promoted to senior vice president. Brower has worked for North Star Mutual Insurance Co. since May of 1994 and previously held the position of vice president of the Information Technology department.
Brian Doose, AU, CPCU, ARM, AIS, has been promoted to vice president of the Auto Claims department. Doose has worked for North Star since March of 1991 and previously held the position of department manager for the Auto Claims department.
Chuck Jahn, CPCU, AIC, AIS, AIT, has been promoted to vice president of the Property/Casualty Claims department. Jahn has worked for North Star since May of 1999 and previously held the position of department manager for the Property/Casualty Claims department (field staff).
Larry Johnson, CPCU, AIC, AIM, AAI, AIS, has been promoted to senior vce president. Johnson has worked for North Star since June of 1995 and previously held the position of vice president of the Agency/Support Services department.
VanKlompenburg receives orthopedic specialist certification
Nic Doeling, PT, DPT, OCS, owner of Big Stone Therapies-Marshall, announces that Jeremy VanKlompenburg, PT, DPT has received his orthopedic specialist certification from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties.
Therapists receiving this distinction have completed 2,000 or more hours of direct patient care in the orthopedics area, studied in advanced clinical education, and passed a written examination. VanKlompenburg is the second physical therapist at this location to receive this specialization after the owner Doeling.
VanKlompenburg received his B.S. in physical education: exercise science at Southwest Minnesota State University. He then obtained his doctorate of physical therapy at University of South Dakota. VanKlompenburg is FMS certified (Level 2) as well as an American Physical Therapy Association member and Orthopedics Section member.
McNamara is new Clarkfield Care center executive director
Shari McNamara has been named executive director at Clarkfield Care Center, effective Oct. 5.
McNamara comes to Clarkfield Care Center from Presbyterian Homes in Bloomington where she was Household Coordinator for both long-term care and memory care, leading an interdisciplinary team that included nursing, social services and activities.
McNamara completed the University of Minnesota Health Care Administration graduate program and receive her nursing home administrator’s license in 2014.
Earlier in her career she worked as a registered dietetic technician at North Memorial Medical Center in Minneapolis and at senior communities in Maplewood and Brooklyn Park.
She has also worked in nutritional product sales for Novartis Medical Nutrition in St. Louis Park and UAS Laboratories in Eden Prairie. She is a graduate of Metropolitan State University in nutrition science management.
McNamara replaces Murray Finger, who left Clarkfield Care Center to become the executive director of St. Mark’s Living in Austin, another Ecumen-managed care center.
