Bossuyt promoted to executive vice president and COO

Todd Bossuyt, CPCU, AIC, has been promoted to executive vice president and chief operating officer (COO) of North Star Mutual Insurance Company in Cottonwood.

He began employment with North Star in 1999 as a field representative in southwestern Minnesota. In 2001, he moved into the Home Office and became the assistant manager for the Auto Underwriting department and was promoted to department manager in 2005. In 2010, he transferred to the Farm Underwriting department and served as department manager until his promotion to vice president of Underwriting in 2012. In 2015, he was promoted to his current position of senior vice president with oversight of Underwriting, Human Resources, and Loss Control.

Myhre promoted to department manager

Carol Myhre has been promoted to department manager of the Human Resources department for North Star Mutual in Cottonwood. She has worked for North Star since 2007 and previously held the position of assistant department manager.

Deutz receives promotion

Hoffman & Brobst, PLLP announced the promotion of Tamara Deutz to a Partner in Training effective Jan.1. As a partner in training during 2021, Deutz will continue to serve her clients and transition into new relationships with existing long standing clients. In addition to her client work, Deutz will take an active role with several management aspects of the firm. Effective Jan. 1, 2022, she will be a full equity partner of the practice. Hoffman & Brobst is a full service certified public accounting firm with offices in Marshall, Granite Falls, and Minneota.

Deutz is a 2009 graduate of Dakota State University. She began her accounting career in 2006 with personal income tax preparation and bookkeeping, and started with Hoffman & Brobst in August of 2011. Her outside interests and involvement includes the Marshall Chamber of Commerce’s Marshall Area Young Professionals and Women’s Connect groups, United Way campaign ambassador, and involvement in the family farm operation. Originally a Canby native, Deutz and her husband Jesse, have two children and reside on their farm just outside of Marshall.

Lightfoot joins Christian Becker State Farm team

Savannah Lightfoot has joined the team at Christian Becker State Farm. She is originally from Cabot, Arkansas.

She moved to Marshall in May of 2018 to attend college at SMSU with a goal to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in business management. She is licensed for property and casualty insurance in the State of Minnesota.
