MARSHALL — The Hair Lounge on College Drive in Marshall now has day hours. The addition of Cassandra Miller to the shop has enabled current stylists Dee French and Megan Renner to expand the business.

The three, who are all from Marshall, do “color, cuts and waxing,” said French.

French and Renner have worked at the shop, which is in the mini strip mall across the street from Anytime Fitness, since 2017, taking over from Darcy Byer, owner of Shear Attitude. French and Renner worked at Shear Attitude and also at Great Clips for years. French was the manager and Renner the assistant manager at Great Clips. Miller also worked at Great Clips.

French and Renner went to school for cosmetology at Minnesota West in Pipestone, and Miller went to a school in Texas. French has been a stylist for 11 years, Renner for nine years and Miller, “a little over two years,” she said.

The cozy shop was renovated four years ago and updated two years ago. It has two stations so two stylists can work at the same time.

Renner and French work from 4-7 p.m. Monday through Thursday because they both work full time at U.S. Bank during the day. They also work Saturdays by appointment. The shop’s number is 507-401-3373.

“In the summer on weekends we do a lot of updos for weddings,” said French.

Miller, who just started in June, has a $10 special sign out near the curb to draw customers in. Also to build clientele she has been handing out her business cards.

“I dropped off my cards at the senior center,” Miller said. “I love seniors.”

Miller will be available 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and with a longer day Fridays.
