National Organization of Medical Regulators elects Dr. Joseph Willett to board of directors

Joseph Willett, DO, Avera Medical Group Marshall, Marshall, was elected to serve a three-year term on the board of directors of the Federation of State Medical Boards during the FSMB’s annual meeting in Fort Worth Texas in April.

The FSMB is a national nonprofit organization representing all 70 state medical boards of the United States and its territories that license and discipline allopathic and osteopathic physicians and, in some jurisdictions, other health care professionals.

As a member of the board of directors, Dr. Willett will help provide strategic leadership to the organization. He has been active with the FSMB for many years, including serving on the FSMB’s Workgroup on Prescription Drug Monitoring Programs and the Audit Committee.

Dr. Willett has been a member of the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice for 16 years, including service as president. He has chaired the board’s Complaint Review Committee for 11 years, and also served on the Public Policy Committee.

Dr. Willett specializes in internal medicine and is a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Internists. He has been a member of the Marshall medical community since 1991.
