Southwest Minnesota Orchestra to host Schubert Festival 2026

The Southwest Minnesota Orchestra, with musical director Dr. Daniel Rieppel, will host events for the Schubert Festival 2026, featuring the music and life of Franz Schubert. The public is invited to attend the festival events at the SMSU Campus Religious Center Thursday, April 23-Saturday, April 25 leading up to the grand finale festival concert on Sunday, April 26 in Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. The Mathematics Program at Southwest Minnesota State University will host the 2nd annual STEM Symposium from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, in the Upper Conference Center. SMSU Theater presents the classic comedy ‘Tartuffe’ SMSU Theater’s spring production is “Tartuffe” by Molière, translated by Richard Wilbur. Performances are April 15 through 18 at 7:30 p.m. and April 19 at 2 p.m. in the SMSU Fine Arts Theatre. Tickets are $10 and will be available only at the door. Seating is first-come, first-served.
