SMSU Center for International Education presents International Education Week, Nov. 17–21
Southwest Minnesota State University (SMSU) will celebrate International Education Week from Nov. 17-21, with a series of events designed to highlight global cultures, study abroad opportunities, and international connections.
Event highlights:
Monday, Nov. 17
Mustangs Study Abroad, 4:30 p.m., Whipple Art Gallery Learn about opportunities to visit the Bahamas, Greece, Ireland, and more.
Monday, Nov. 17-Thursday, Nov. 20:
Taste of Cultures Explore global cuisines and cultures with international peers. Free and open to the first 40 participants. Sign up by emailing CIE@smsu.edu or visiting the Center for International Education in the Upper Student Center.
• International Potluck: Monday, Nov. 17 at 4 p.m.
• Nepal: Tuesday, Nov. 18 at 4 p.m.
• Malawi: Wednesday, Nov. 19 at 4 p.m.
• Jamaica: Thursday, Nov. 20 at 4 p.m.
• Mali: Thursday, Nov. 20 at 4:30 p.m.
Friday, Nov. 21:
International Gala. 6-11 p.m., Upper Conference Center Enjoy international food, entertainment, and a fashion show featuring cultural garments.
SMSU Professor of History Dr. Mike Hofstetter will present “Where’s that from? A brief history of food and trade.”
Tickets are $20 each or $150 for a table of eight. Co-sponsored by International Student Organization and Hmong Student Organization.

Enjoy international music playing in the Student Center all week long.
Global Treats and Trivia Stop by information tables in the BA/CH link to answer trivia, learn about study abroad programs, and sample international snacks.
