SMSU to host Family Weekend Sept. 19-21

Southwest Minnesota State University is hosting its annual Family Weekend Sept. 19-21. Parents, siblings, grandparents, and other family members of SMSU students are invited to participate.

Family Weekend is a tradition at Southwest Minnesota State University designed to bring family and friends to Marshall to enjoy time with their students, experience campus, and explore the community with them.

Friday, Set. 19

Dinner on your own

7 p.m. Planetarium show in SM 108: We will take a cosmic journey starting with the sky as seen from your backyard. From there, we launch from Earth into space to explore the planets of our solar system. Beyond the solar system lie the stars where we continue our journey that eventually reaches the limits of our best telescopes. (Limited seating for 60)

8 p.m. Chemistry Club liquid nitrogen ice cream (tentative) in SM Science & Math 107 — Natural History Museum

Saturday, Sept. 20

8 a.m.-5: p.m.: Barnes & Noble Bookstore hours in SC118

9 a.m.-2 p.m.: Student Center Coffeehouse hours in SC118

10-11 a.m.: RHA DIY bead bracelet/ keychain in SC 118

10 a.m.-noon: Check-in at Student Center East Entrance (optional)
