Minnesota State System announces selection for the Luoma Leadership Academy

The Minnesota State system announced the selection of over 50 leaders from across its institutions, for the 12th cohort of the long-standing, premiere Luoma Leadership Academy. This esteemed program aims to foster professional growth, development, and collaboration among emerging Leaders within the higher educational community.

The Luoma Leadership Academy which begins in July, is an intensive year long program designed to cultivate the leadership potential of participants through a combination of individual and group development experiences. These learning sessions and supportive peer networking opportunities will positively impact Minnesota West Community and Technical College, as well as Minnesota State.

“By investing time and resources in the growth of our college talent with opportunities such as Luoma Leadership Academy, we are ensuring the long-term success of both individuals and the institution as a whole,” said Vice President of Human Resources Katie Meyer.

Minnesota West Community & Technical College nominated participants include: Kent Dahlman, interim dean of Liberal Arts & K-12 Partnerships; Jennifer Thovson, Student Services and Senate adviser; and Dr. Megan Gorres, Nursing faculty member.

“The College is thrilled to have three of our talented leaders join the Luoma Leadership Academy,” said Dr. Arthur Brown, provost.
