SMSU Center for International Education to host International Education Week
SMSU Center for International Education (CIE) will host the annual International Education Week from Monday, Nov. 13 through Friday, Nov. 17. The week includes events to celebrate the international students at SMSU and to invite the community to learn about their countries and cultures.
Events include:
International Music Fest: Enjoy international music all week long throughout the Student Center.
Study Abroad, Global Treats, and Trivia: Every day, 10 a.m.-noon, BA/CH Link.
Mustangs, Learn How You Can Study Abroad: Monday, Nov 13, 4 p.m., Student Center Upper Level by the world flags display. Free, followed by a sampling of international cuisine.
• Try out the new Chinese language and culture course at SMSU with a visit to Taiwan.
• Earn biology credits in the Bahamas, or
• Experience Theater in London and much more.
• A Taste of Cultures: Learn about another country and enjoy tasty cuisine from their culture. Free with limited seating. Email cie@smsu.edu or stop by the CIE in SC 237 to sign up.
• Zimbabwe: Tuesday, Nov. 14, at 4 p.m., Lower Level CC
• Dominica and Colombia: Wednesday, Nov. 15, at 4 p.m., Lower Level CC
• Sierra Leone: Thursday, Nov. 16, at 4 p.m., Lower Level CC
• FIFA Livestream: FIFA Soccer Tournament: Thurs., Nov. 16, 5-6 p.m., Student Center 216. FIFA PS5 tournament sponsored by Live at the Centers, ISO, and the Soccer Club. Free pizzas and fun.
• International Gala: Friday, Nov. 17, at 6-11 p.m. Conference Center Upper Level at SMSU. Enjoy an evening of international TedTalks, international cuisine, entertainment, a fashion show, and stay for the dance party, Featuring talks by George Bass, director of SMSU Business Services and Professor Julie Walker, associate professor of Communication Studies. Dress to impress, cultural attire is encouraged. Reserve a table for your club/department.
