The Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post 742 announces its fall scholarship contests.

Patriot’s Pen contest is for students in grades 6-8 expressing their views on this year’s theme, “My Pledge to Our Veterans.” The Voice of Democracy contest is for grades 9-12 students who record their reading of their essay to a flash drive/USB or electronically submitted, via an audio file attached to an email. The recording can be no shorter than three minutes and no longer than five minutes. The recording, typed version of their essay and entry form must be submitted. The VOD theme for this year is “Why is the Veteran Important?”
