Minnesota West students receive scholarships

Minnesota West Community & Technical College announced scholarship recipients for fall semester 2020. These students were chosen to receive the following scholarships based on their applications and meeting numerous requirements defined by each individual scholarship. These scholarships awarded are funded by donors to the Minnesota West Foundation and the Workforce Development scholarships, which are made available through funding by the state of Minnesota.

Recipients are:

Balaton: Hayley Denelsbeck, $500, Canby campus award.

Canby: Jake Henckel, $2,500, workforce development scholarship and $250, Cathy Paulson Memorial scholarship.

Currie: Christina LeClaire, $250, nursing scholarship.

Granite Falls, Douglas Bendel, $500, diesel technology new student scholarship; Skyler Corner, $2,500, workforce development; Lauren McCosh, $1,000, Narvistad scholarship, $500, General Foundation, $750, Higginbotham Memorial.

Hanley Falls: Christinea Dahl, $2,500, workforce development and $1,000, Glenn Vos Memorial scholarship; Dakota Haugen, $2,500, workforce development.

Ivanhoe: Amber Hopper, $1,000, Marble Lutheran Church nursing scholarship.

Lake Benton, Hailley Flores, $2,500, workforce development.

Marshall: Darcy Listul, $2,500, workforce development.

Minneota: Kathleen DeSmet, $500, Granite Falls Bank administrative assistant scholarship and $2,500, workforce development and $500 administrative assistant; Ali DeVlaeminck, $500, Canby campus award and $1,000 Marble Lutheran Church scholarship and $2,500, workforce development;

Slayton, Eden Bengtson, $2,500, workforce development scholarship; The Schwan’s Co. Scholarship — Worthington Campus; Austin Wendinger, $2,500, workforce development.

Tracy: Parker Hinrichs, $1,000, Tim Hansen Memorial scholarship.

Tyler: Andrew Lichtsinn, $1,000, The Schwan’s Co. – Canby campus, $500, Duke Energy New Student and $500, Lou and Esther Brouwer Memorial.
