Concordia College hosts virtual commencement, area students among honorees

Concordia College hosted a virtual commencement celebration on May 3. Local graduates include: Bobbie Jo O’Neil, daughter of Robert and Susan O’Neill of Balaton, psychology and English writing. Carmen Peterson, summa cum laude, Clarkfield, nursing. Sadie Zahrbock, cum laude, daughter of Hans and Shana Zahrbock of Marshall, communication studies.

Area students receive degrees from NDSU

The following area students were among the students to graduate from North Dakota State University in spring 2020. NDSU awarded 1,845 degrees. The list includes major and degree received. An asterisk indicates students who graduated with honors. A student must earn a 3.50 grade-point average or higher to graduate with honors.

Ghent: *Ryan Colgan, BS, medical laboratory science; *Trystin Nilson, BS, exercise science.

Hendricks: *Taylor Veire, BS, business administration.

Marshall: *Monica Timmerman, BS, computer science

Blomme named to Marquette University’s dean’s list

Sydney Blomme of Garvin has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2020 semester at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Blomme is pursuing a bachelor of science in biomedical sciences.

To make the dean’s list, students must have earned at least 12 credits for the spring 2020 semester and have no disqualifying graces. The GPA threshold varies by college — for the College of Education and the Klingler College of Arts and Sciences, undergraduate students must have at least a 3.7 to be named to the dean’s list.

Bot named to chancellor’s list at UMN Crookston

Students named to the spring semester 2020 chancellor’s list were announced recently by the Office of the Registrar.

To qualify for a place on the chancellor’s list, students must complete 12 or more letter-graded (A-F) credits while attaining a 4.00 grade-point average.

Area students named to LATI president’s list

Michael Cartney, Lake Area Technical Institute president, announced the current president’s list. The president’s list is a list of outstanding students who, through their initiative and ability, have indicated a seriousness of purpose in their educational program.

The president’s list is limited to full-time students who have achieved a semester grade-point average of 3.5 to 4.0. Students with a 4.0 have been noted by an *.

Dwire named to dean’s list at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota

Kayla Dwire of Marshall was named to the second semester 2020 dean’s list at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. The list includes 451 undergraduate students who earned a grade-point average of 3.60 or better on a 4.0 scale.

Local students named to dean’s list at Moorhead

The following students have been named to the Minnesota State University Moorhead dean’s list in recognition of academic achievement spring semester 2020. Students must maintain a 3.25 or higher grade-point average and carry 12 graded credits to qualify for the honor.

Philliber named to dean’s list at UW-Superior

The University of Wisconsin-Superior has named Morgan Philliber of Tyler to the dean’s list for academic achievement during the spring 2020 semester.

To be named to the dean’s list, students must have completed 12 degree-seeking semester credits and achieved at least a 3.50 grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale).
