A Festival of Woodwinds at SMSU Saturday

The SMSU Music Program will host “A Festival of Woodwinds” on Saturday, featuring guest flutist Immanuel Davis.

“A Festival of Woodwinds” is a day-long workshop for woodwind players regardless of age or ability level. It is also open to directors and other musicians interested in woodwind performance.

Registration is $40 per person, which includes lunch. The masterclass only (flute/Alexander Technique) is $10 per person.

Guest artist Immanuel Davis has been the flute professor at the University of Minnesota since 2013. He is a versatile performer who enjoys playing the entire span of the flute repertoire, and has released two CDs, and is working on a third.

Registration is from 8:30-9 a.m. Warm-ups run until 9:30 a.m., followed by Woodwind Choir rehearsal, guest clinician recital, lunch, masterclass, Woodwind Choir rehearsal and the Finale Concert, held in the Fine Arts Theatre.
