Shingledecker to be ordained Jan. 21

Sara Shingledecker (fka Sara Larson and Sara Dahl) will be ordained as a pastor of Word and Sacrament in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America at 3:30 p.m. Jan. 21, at First Lutheran Church in Marshall. (In the case of inclement weather this event will be held on Feb. 3) Rachel Kurtz will lead singing with other musicians from southwest Minnesota and Rev. Meta Herrick Carlson will be preaching. Bishop Dee Pedersen will preside. Lingen’s Food Truck will provide refreshments and sandwiches following the event with fellowship.

This event will be livestreamed https://www.youtube.com/c/FirstLutheranChurchMarshall and all attendees in person or from a distance are encouraged to bring or donate an in-kind offering of feminine hygiene supplies, large-sized diapers, or Pull-Ups, which can be distributed locally. Clergy are invited to vest in red and process and will meet at 3 p.m. in Gethsemane Chapel. She has been called to serve the Lutheran congregations of Grace and Trinity in Westbrook.

Pancake breakfast Sunday

The Knights of Columbus are having a pancake breakfast from 8-11:30 a.m. Sunday in Carlin Hall at Holy Redeemer Church. Pancakes, sausage, eggs, orange juice, milk, coffee and water will be served. Free will offering.
