Marshall Special Olympics Minnesota athlete Andrea Jones spoke to Holy Redeemer School on Jan. 31 during the 2022 Catholic Schools Week. Andrea is the daughter of Brian and Kelly Jones and is currently a senior at Marshall High School. She has been a Special Olympics athlete since 2017. Her presentation to approximately 270 students and staff at Holy Redeemer school focused on experience as an athlete and the positive effects Special Olympics Minnesota has had on her life. Andrea is actively involved with the Marshall High School basketball and swim team as well as the Marshall Special Olympics basketball, swim and track teams.

As a part of Catholic Schools Week, students hosted a walk/read-a-thon to raise money for Marshall Area Special Olympics.
