The African Children’s Choir to perform in Marshall

The African Children’s Choir will perform at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, at Living Word Lutheran Church in Marshall.

The African Children’s Choir performs lively African songs and dances. The program features children’s songs, traditional spirituals and gospel favorites. The concert is free and open to all. A free-will offering will be accepted to support African Children’s Choir programs such as education, care and relief and development programs.

African Children’s Choir is a nonprofit humanitarian and relief organization dedicated to helping Africa’s most vulnerable children.

The “Just As I Am” tour combines traditional hymns with African cultural sounds and a stunning visual story of God’s faithfulness. Music for Life (the parent organization for the African Children’s Choir) works in seven African countries such as, Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Sudan, Nigeria, Ghana and South Africa. MFL has educated over 52,000 children and impacted the lives of over 100,000 people through its relief and development programs during its history.

The African Children’s Choir has performed before presidents, heads of state and Queen Elizabeth II’s diamond jubilee. The Choir has also sang with artists such as Paul McCartney, Annie Lennox, Keith Urban, Mariah Carey and Michael W. Smith.
