CDA to have fundraiser at Pizza Ranch
Catholic Daughters invite the public to Pizza Ranch in Marshall on Monday between 5-8 p.m. for a fundraiser. A percentage of sales along with tips will go toward CDA’s various projects.
Virginia woman sues, says prayer break request cost her job
FALLS CHURCH, Va. (AP) — A northern Virginia woman is suing a company that she said refused to hire her after she requested two five-minute breaks to pray during her work shift.
Shahin Indorewala, 26, of Woodbridge says her job interview with Falls Church-based Fast Trak Management was going well until she asked if she could take the prayer breaks in exchange for a shorter lunch break to accommodate her practices as an observant Muslim.
Historic Baptist church at Kentucky state park is vandalized
MAMMOTH CAVE, Ky. (AP) — A historic Baptist church at a state park in Kentucky has been vandalized with orange spray paint.
WBKO-TV reported graffiti now covers parts of Mammoth Cave Baptist Church’s exterior and interior, along with its windows and benches. One wall now reads “I heart Satan,” with a drawing of a heart. Mammoth Cave National Park Superintendent Barclay Trimble says the church is one of only three that remain from the time before the park was established in 1941.
