Parish festival is Oct. 7 in Lake Benton

St. Genevieve’s parish festival is from 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, at Lake Benton School. Chicken dinner including vegetables, potatoes and gravy and pie. Cost for adults is $11 and children 5-12, $5. For meal delivery call Ardith before Sunday: 507-368-4839. For takeout call 507-828-0733. Country store, games, live and silent auction, cash raffle and pie and quilt auction will take place.

Alzheimer’s informational meeting at Christ Lutheran Church

Christ Lutheran Church will offer a presentation that provides information that families and friends will want to know as they care for a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease. The event titled: “It’s Alzheimer’s”— It’s Time for Extraordinary Love, will be in the church basement on Saturday. The presentation will be from 9 a.m.-noon. The doors will be open at 8:30 a.m. for same day registration.

The Rev. Curt Seefeldt, director of church relations for The Lutheran Home Association, will facilitate discussion on Alzheimer’s diagnosis, treatment options, answers to spiritual questions and family care. Participants will leave with a better understanding of how to provide emotional and spiritual support to all who are affected by the disease. Everyone is invited to attend. There is no charge for the event.
