BALATON – Amy DeKok and Derek Evans announce their engagement. Parents of the couple are Roger and Karen DeKok of Mount Vernon, S.D., and Corey and Jennifer Evans of Balaton. DeKok is a 2008 graduate of Mount Vernon High School and a 2012 graduate of the University of South Dakota with bachelor of nursing degree. She is the charge nurse at Davita Dialysis in Mitchell, S.D. Evans is a 2007 graduate of Tracy-Milroy-Balaton High School. He studied economics at the University of South Dakota and is currently the sales and design manager of Gridline Field Tile in Mitchell, S.D. The couple recently purchased a home near Mount Vernon, S.D., and are planning a July 2018 wedding in Balaton.
