GRANITE FALLS -- Aedyn Dahl and Colten Bothun led the charge for the Dawson-Boyd football team's prolific rushing attack as it steamrolled Yellow Medicine East 41-0. The Blackjacks picked up 212 of their 297 yards on the ground as they cruised to a 20-0 lead by halftime and 21 third-quarter points.
Bothun finished the day with three touchdowns and 70 yards on eight attempts, including each of the game's first two touchdowns. Dahl added another pair of touchdowns and 138 yards on 11 attempts, including a 25-yard touchdown to cap off the first half and a 30-yard run in the third quarter.
Carver Schwagel helped the Blackjacks recapture their momentum after the break with a 30-yard pick-6. Aiden Olson and Kingston Crosby also contributed heavily with four solo and nine total tackles each, including a sack for Crosby.
Carson Stratmoen completed seven of his 12 passing attempts for 85 yards and an interception. Dahl was the team's leading receiver with 33 yards on a pair of catches.
Caysen Lien led the Sting with 11 carries for 34 yards, and Liam Anderson completed two of his seven pass attempts for 19 yards and an interception. Dane Hildahl's two solo and six total tackles were both team-highs.
Dawson-Boyd improves to 2-0 with the win and aims to start the season with its third straight game of more than 40 points when it hosts Lac qui Parle Valley (2-0) for its home opener on Friday at 7 p.m.
Yellow Medicine East falls to 0-2 on the year, and looks to get on the scoreboard when it heads to Clara City for a matchup against MACCRAY on Friday at 7 p.m.
