Wabasso football rolls on the road

MORGAN -- Drew Kemp threw for four touchdowns and 234 yards on just 10 attempts for the Wabasso football team on Friday night, leading the Rabbits to a 62-0 win over Cedar Mountain.

Among Kemp's four touchdown passes was a 75-yard touchdown to Nolan Leopold, who finished the night with a team-high four catches for 124 yards. Jack Burns also caught three passes for 54 yards and a pair of first-half touchdowns, while Nathan Riley caught a 37-yard touchdown.

Lane Taylor was at the forefront of the Rabbits' rushing attack, ending the day with five carries for 94 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Brooks Baune also found the end zone twice for 20 yards on five carries.

Taylor and Nolan Hanson each recorded a sack on the day, including three tackles for loss for Hanson and five solo tackles for Taylor.

Wabasso led 24-0 after the first quarter and 56-0 at halftime. Wabasso has won each of its first two games by more than 60 points.

Wabasso improves to 2-0 on the season and next goes on the road to take on Grenada-Huntley-East Chain-Truman (1-1) on Friday at 7 p.m.
