COTTONWOOD — Lakeview senior and Southwest Minnesota State commit Nathan Fenske was selected to play in the 41st annual Minnesota High School Basketball All-Star Series, per a press release from Lakeview High School Friday afternoon.

Fenske was a standout basketball player for the Lakers, leading them to the 3A quarterfinals as the second seed during his senior season.

Selections for the four all-star teams, each including ten players, were voted on by the Minnesota Basketball Coaches Association.

With the selection, Fenske becomes the first Lakeview player to be selected to the series in its 41 years of existence.

Fenske will compete for the Green All-Stars alongside fellow collegiate commits such as Taison Chatman (Ohio State), Matthew Bothun (University of North Dakota), Adam Jenkins (Minnesota State Moorhead), Alex Mattes (UMary) and Trey Smith (Minnesota-Duluth).

The Green All-Stars will begin play April 1 at 12:20 in the Anoka Ramsey Community College Fieldhouse. Pending the results of the first game, they will play again at 1:30 p.m. or 3:05 p.m.

The Green All-Stars will be coached by Greg Garmen of Crookston and Keith Pearson of Fergus Falls.

Tickets are available online at www.mshsca.org/boysbasketball or at the door on the day of the event. The game is also available for streaming online at Nspn.TV
