Three tournaments highlight 51st annual Dolan Classic

TRACY — The 51st annual Dolan Classic golf tournament took place over the weekend at the Tracy Country Club, featuring direct descendants of the John and Mary Dolan family and their families.

Saturday featured a handicap tournament and two alternate-shot tournaments, with a total of 98 individuals participating between the two events.

The winning team in the 36-hole handicap tournament were Mike Eichten of Wabasso and Kevin Schnyders of Belle Plaine, with a combined net score of 7-over. Eichten and Schnyders won the three-hole playoff by two strokes.

Abby Dallmann of Marshall and Teresa Dolan of Rio Verde, Ariz., won Saturday’s alternate shot event, combining for a gross score of 52 strokes. Friday’s winners were Cheri Dallmann and Neil Eichten of Wabasso with a team score of 40.

The Dolan Classic concluded with an awards ceremony on the 18th green. At the ceremony, Terrance and Susan Dolan were awarded the Founder’s Award, given annually to people who have contributed to the success of the tournament over many years.

“Terry and Sue have been on the Classic committee for over twelve years and have been essential leaders of the annual family event,” award presenter Mike Dolan said.
