PREP SPORTS ROUNDUP: YME baseball cruises past TMB, 9-0

GRANITE FALLS — The Yellow Medicine East baseball team defeated Tracy-Milroy-Balaton 9-0 on Thursday.

Drew Almich led YME with two hits and two RBIs while Bryce Sneller added a hit and two RBIs and Israel Eakes had a hit and an RBI. Sneller earned the win on the mound, going six innings while allowing no runs on three hits and struck out five.

Brandon Duscher, Noah Knakmuhs and Travis Willhite led TMB with a hit each. Joseph Anderson took the loss on the mound, going 2 1/3 innings while allowing three runs on two hits and struck out one.

YME (6-4) will face Pipestone Area at home today at 4:30 p.m. while TMB (10-5) will face RRC on the road today at 4:30 p.m.

DAWSON — The Minneota baseball team defeated Dawson-Boyd 11-6 on Wednesday.

Peyton Sheik led Minneota with two hits and three RBIs while Ryan Dalager and Jackson Lacek each added two hits and an RBI. Sheik earned the win on the mound, going four innings while allowing four runs on five hits and struck out five.

Aric Gruwell led DB with two hits and three RBIs while Braxton Hahn and Grayson Olson each added two hits. Braxton Hahn took the loss on the mound, going four innings while allowing two runs on four hits and struck out two.

Minneota will face MCC at home today at 3 p.m. while DB will face RTR on the road on Monday at 4:30 p.m.

RAYMOND — The Russell-Tyler-Ruthton softball team split a pair of games against MACCRAY on Wednesday, falling in Game 1 9-5 before winning Game 2 8-5.

In Game 1, Laken Baartman led RTR with three hits and three RBIs while Madi Burns and Whitney Bruns each added two hits. Kya Alderson took the loss in the circle, going seven innings while allowing nine runs on nine hits and struck out six.

In Game 2, Baartman led RTR with three hits and three RBIs while Briella Buchert added two hits and two RBIs and Lily Klumper and Alderson each had two hits and an RBI. Alderson earned the win in the circle, going seven innings while allowing five runs on five hits and struck out 13.

RTR will start section play next week.
