PREP SPORTS ROUNDUP: Area wrestling teams compete at Redwood Riots Invite

REDWOOD FALLS — Multiple area wrestling teams competed at the Redwood Riots over the weekend, with several area athletes earning placements.

Marshall

For Marshall, Tate Condezo placed second by fall while Dylan Louwagie placed third by decision, Landon Marthaler placed fourth by fall, Drew Chandler placed fifth by fall, Tucker Fiene placed seventh by fall and Dawson Decamp placed eighth by decision. Louwagie also earned his 125th career win.

Canby

For Canby, Eli Greenman placed third by fall while Lane Fink placed fifth by forfeit and Lincoln Fink placed seventh by decision.

United

For United, Kameron Sather placed fourth by decision while Daniel Gunlogson placed second by decision, Zander Clausen placed third by fall, Dain Mortenson placed sixth by forfeit, Holt Larson placed eighth by fall and Keaton Haas placed second by fall.

Fulda/MCC

For Fulda/MCC, Christian Kuball placed eighth by decision.

TMB/WWG

For TMB/WWG, Linkoln Carlson placed second by major decision while Devin Carter placed fourth by fall, Ayden Horner placed second by decision and Caden Johnson placed first by decision.

Wabasso

For Wabasso, Kayser Harms placed seventh by decision.

Northfield Invite

NORTHFIELD — The Minneota wrestling team competed at the Northfield Invite on Saturday, placing third with a score of 145. Tri-City United placed first with a score of 182 while Reedsville took second with a score of 162.5.

For Minneota, Peyton Gillund, Chase Johnson, Troy VanKeulen, Kade Lozinski and Jonah Gruenes placed first while Adam DeVlaeminck, Browdy Lozinski, and Hudson Scholten placed second, Cael Fier, Alex Depestel and Blake Mead placed fourth, Eli Gruenes, Kyson Arndt, Noah Gorecki and Kaden Lasnetski placed fifth and Quinton Anderson and Sam Myhre placed sixth.

Minneota will compete next on Tuesday on the road at TMB at 5 p.m.

Boys basketball

DB 76, RCW 56

RENVILLE — The Dawson-Boyd boys basketball team defeated Renville County West 76-56 on Saturday.

Keegon Wicht led DB with 17 points while Brayson Boike added 16 and Levi Olson had 13. Boike led in rebounds with 12 while Wicht led in assists with 11.

DB (6-0) will face CMCS on the road on Tuesday at 7:15 p.m.

MINNEOTA — The Minneota girls basketball team defeated Canby 73-32 on Friday.

Natalee Rolbiecki led Minneota with 17 points while McKenna Yost added 16 and Grace Hennen had nine. Ireland Stassen led in rebounds with five while Rolbiecki led in steals with five.

Aidyn Bruns led Canby with eight points while Kortney Leppke added seven and Ryann Hansen recorded six. Leppke led in rebounds with seven while Elysa Wollum, Leppke and Maya Wente led in assists with two each.

Canby (4-2) will face YME at home on Tuesday at 7:15 p.m.

Karli Arkell led RRC with 24 points while Lily Stavnes added 17 and Sondra Rindfleisch had 12. Arkell also led in rebounds with eight while Stavnes led in assists with one.

YME (3-4) will face WWG on the road today at 7:15 p.m. while RRC (4-4) will face HBC at home on Tuesday at 7:15 p.m.

Chant Mitchell led MCC with 20 points while Nate Kleven added 19, Christian Tentinger and Aidan Dierks each had 12 and Tanner Graphenteen had 10. Kleven led in rebounds with 12 while Graphenteen led in assists with six.

Ty Stoks and Dylan Houseman led Canby with 17 points each while Evan Weber added 10. Trevor Gray led in rebounds with five while Weber and Gray led in assists with four each.

MCC (3-2) will face HBC on the road on Tuesday at 7:15 p.m. while Canby (1-3) will face Lakeview on the road on Tuesday at 7:15 p.m.
