SMSU GOLF: SMSU travels to Missouri for final tournament of fall season

MARSHALL — The Southwest Minnesota State University women’s golf team concludes the fall season this Monday and Tuesday with the Midwest Classic hosted by the University of Central Missouri. Nearly 20 teams are expected to play in the 36-hole tournament which will be held at Mules National Golf Club in Warrensburg, Mo.

This week’s tournament will be the sixth for SMSU this fall. The Mustangs played last Sunday and Monday at the Central Region Preview in Hot Springs, Ark.

Junior Sally Gallagher had a team-low 82.1 stroke average in 10 rounds with sophomore Jacqueline Gossen right behind with an 82.5 average in 10 rounds. Senior Anneke Weg ranks third on the team with an 84.6 average in eight rounds, while sophomore Lauryn Driscoll is fourth with an average of 85.5 in 10 rounds.
