PREP SPORTS ROUNDUP: No. 7N Wabasso gets past No. 10N Lakeview in Section 3A opener

WABASSO — The No. 7N Wabasso volleyball team defeated No. 10N Lakeview 3-1 (20-25, 25-12, 25-13, 25-9) in the Section 3A tournament on Monday.

Kelsey Fischer led Wabasso with 12 kills while Alivia Olson and Kelsey Frank each added eight. Audrey Johnson led in digs with 19 while Natasha Doubler added 16 and Frank led in set assists with 31.

No Lakeview stats were available at press time.

With the loss, Lakeview’s season comes to an end at 5-22. Wabasso (7-16) will advance to face No. 2N Canby on the road on Friday at 7 p.m.

DAWSON — The No. 8N Dawson-Boyd volleyball team defeated No. 9N Lac qui Parle Valley 3-2 (25-14, 23-25, 25-22, 17-25, 15-10) in the Section 3A tournament on Monday.

Kate Dahl led DB with 20 kills while Ayiana Hastad added 13 and Reese Johnson had 10. Dahl also led in digs with 17 while Alivia Haas added 11 and Hastad had 10 and Chelsie Husby led in set assists with 42.

DB advances to face No. 1N Minneota on the road on Friday at 7 p.m.

WESTBROOK — The No. 9S Murray County Central volleyball team defeated No. 8S Westbrook-Walnut Grove 3-2 (25-17, 25-17, 18-25, 25-27, 15-11) in the Section 3A tournament on Monday.

Emily Rohrer led MCC with 30 kills while Abby Loosbrock added 11. Kiana Felber led in digs with 25 while Ciera Tutt added 19, Zoey Iverson had 16, Camdyn Kluis had 11 and Kate Slettum had 10. Slettum also led in set assists with 49.

No WWG stats were available at press time.

With the loss, WWG ends its season with an 11-17 record. MCC advances to face No. 1S Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda on the road on Friday at 7 p.m.
