SMSU softball to host 4-Week Skills Academy in November

MARSHALL — The Southwest Minnesota State University softball program is hosting a Four-Week Skills Academy during the month of November for players in grades 4-12 on the campus of SMSU.

Individuals can sign-up for the “pitching & catching skills academy”, the “hitting & fielding skills academy” or can sign-up for both with the “bundle” package.

The dates for the academy are Nov. 1, 8, 15 and 22 and will run each day from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the R/A Facility and PE Gym.

The cost for either the “pitching & catching” session or “hitting & fielding” session is $75 for students in grades 4-7 and $125 for students in grades 8-12.

The cost is just $125 to attend both sessions for grades 4-7 and $200 for students in grades 8-12 to attend both sessions.

All individuals attending camp must wear a mask.

Each pitcher attending the camp must bring their own catcher (an adult is preferred). Catchers must bring catching gear, glove and tennis shoes. Individuals attending the hitting and fielding session must bring a bat, glove, shoes and helmet.
