MARSHALL — The SMSU Mustang Booster Club will hold its first monthly luncheon of the 2020-21 academic year today at Shay’s Restaurant in Marshall.

The monthly meetings, which begin at 12:15 p.m., are open to all Mustang Booster Club members and prospective members. Today’s meeting will have an SMSU Athletics update with SMSU Director of Athletics Chris Hmielewski about the 2020-21 season.

“We are looking forward to next week’s event where Mustang Booster Club members and friends of the program can come together to talk about SMSU Athletics,” said SMSU Director of Athletics Chris Hmielewski. “Please join us for our first luncheon and come learn about what the Fall athletics schedule looks and feels like, the decision-making process that occurred over the summer within NCAA Division II and NSIC, and what does the landscape look like for winter and spring sports in 2021. We are excited to share what is happening in Mustang Athletics. We look forward to seeing you next Wednesday.”

A burger bar will be served at a cost of $9.99, which includes a 1/4 pound burger with cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions, mayo, ketchup and mustard packets served with French fries. A half-plate house salad served with garlic toast will also be available for $8.99. Beverages will be made available for an additional purchase.

Social distancing guidelines will be enforced to ensure the safety of all individuals.
