Marshall tennis cruises past Redwood Valley

REDWOOD FALLS — The Marshall girls tennis team won all of their matches en route to defeating Redwood Valley 7-0 on Tuesday.

At No. 1 singles, Gionna Parsa defeated Redwood Valley’s Payden Beran 6-1, 6-0 while Eden Knudson defeated Redwood Valley’s Kate Foy 6-1, 6-3 at the No. 2 spot. At No. 3 singles, Mariah Bergjord defeated Redwood Valley’s Avery Wilson 6-1, 6-2 while Regan Loft defeated Redwood Valley’s Talia McCorquodale 6-3, 6-3 at the No. 4 spot.

In doubles action, the duo of Leah Schaefer and Leah Matzner defeated Redwood Valley’s Lexy Nelson and Pari Bailey 6-0, 6-3 at the No. 1 spot while Kayla Polejewski and Dani Ewing defeated Redwood Valley’s Anneliese Hammer and Audrey Munshower 6-2, 6-0 at the No. 2 spot. At No. 3 doubles, Aubrey Bjella and Mackenna Eickhoff defeated Redwood Valley’s Mila Jenniges and Brooke Zollner 6-4, 6-1 to seal the victory for Marshall.

Marshall will face Luverne on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
