Marshall boys soccer falls to Worthington

WORTHINGTON — The Marshall boys soccer team fell to Worthington 2-0 on Tuesday night.

After back-and-forth play got things started, Worthington was able to find the back of the net with 10 minutes left in the first half to take a 1-0 lead, which held until halftime. Neither team would find the back of the net again until the late stages of the second half, when Worthington scored with roughly two minutes to play to push its lead to 2-0 and ultimately earn the victory.

Tristan VanDeVere recorded eight saves in goal for Marshall while Carlos Reyes added seven of his own.

Marshall (2-2-3) will face Mankato Loyola on Friday at 6:45 p.m. in its final home game of the regular season.
