Marshall takes out Wabasso, 6-3
WABASSO — The Marshall amateur baseball team defeated Wabasso 6-3 on Wednesday.
Alex Thompson led the way for the A’s with three hits and an RBI while Matt Hmielewski added a pair of hits and two RBI and Ryan Schwagel had two hits and an RBI.
Logan Tomasek earned the start on the mound for Marshall, going 4 1/3 innings while allowing three runs on four hits and struck out three. Wes Sarsland got the win in relief, going 3 1/3 innings while allowing no runs on one hit and striking out six.
CJ Theis led the way for Wabasso with a 2 for 3 day at the plate and an RBI while Sam Guetter, Devan Liebl and Caleb Frericks each added a hit and Carter Guetter had a couple of RBI.
Liebl took the loss on the mound, going 5 1/3 innings while allowing five runs on eight hits and struck out six.
Marshall will face Wabasso again on Sunday in its final home game of the regular season at 5 p.m. while Wabasso will face Bird Island on Friday at 7:30 p.m. before taking on the A’s.

Milroy Yankees 2
BIRD ISLAND — The Milroy Yankees fell to Bird Island 6-2 on Wednesday.
Eric Dolan led the way for the Yankees with a 2 for 4 day at the plate with an RBI while Derek Rasmussen added two hits and Andy Schmidt, Aaron Mathiowetz and Nathan Deutz each had a hit.
Isaac Schmitt took the loss on the mound, going seven innings while allowing five runs on five hits and striking out seven.
The Yankees will face Jackson on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
