Marshall falls to Willmar, 4-3

WILLMAR – Going into Friday night’s game against Willmar, the Marshall A’s knew they have some work to do in the final weeks of the regular season to secure an automatic bid into the Region 4C Tournament.

Marshall wasn’t able to secure a victory to improve its standing on Friday, however, as Willmar defeated Marshall 4-3.

The top of the A’s lineup delivered in the loss, as Matt Hmielewski, Peyton Grant and Alex Thompson recorded two hits apiece.

Starting pitcher Wesley Sarsland took the loss, allowing four runs (two earned) on seven hits over five innings.

Marshall (2-7) will host the Milroy Yankees on Sunday.
