SMSU GOLF: Mustangs close SMSU Spring Invite with fifth place finish
LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. — The Southwest Minnesota State women’s golf team completed the SMSU Spring Invite at the Wigwam Resort Red course finishing in fifth place at the seven-team with a two-round score of 85-over-par 661.
Lindenwood (Mo.) won the team title with a score of 23-over-par 599, with Nebraska-Kearney coming in second place at 38-over 614. Brenda Dominguez from Western New Mexico won the individual title among 48 players with an ever par 144 (74-70).
SMSU’s Hannah Kohls shot a 5-over 77 on Tuesday and finished tied for sixth overall at 8-over 152 (75-77). Teammate Courtni Frank tied for 21st overall with a score of 19-over 163 (81-82), while Sally Gallagher carded a 6-over 78 today to place tied for 24th at 23-over 167 (89-78). Natalie Bohnert shot a 90 on Tuesday to finish 39th at 35-over (89-90), while Sydney Noel rounded out the SMSU lineup with a 93 on Tuesday to record a 43rd place mark with a score of 43-over 187 (94-93).
Southwest Minnesota State continues action in Arizona later this week hosting the five-team SMSU Challenge on Thursday and Friday at Coldwater Golf Club in Avondale.
