YOUTH BOYS HOCKEY: MAHA Pee Wee B drops pair of games in District 4 tournament
REDWOOD FALLS – The Marshall Amateur Hockey Association Pee Wee B team finished the season going 0-2 in the District 4 tournament, falling to Luverne on Friday and Windom on Saturday.
The Tigers were unable to find the back of the net on Friday, falling to Luverne 7-0. The Cardinals scored four goals in the first and three in the second before Marshall held them scoreless in the third. Justin Dwire made 25 saves in the loss.
On Saturday the, the Tigers faced Windom in the consolation bracket. The Eagles took a 2-0 lead before Brenden Weller cut the lead in half at 5:21. Windom extended the lead again with a pair of goals, but with 24 seconds left on the clock, Weller scored his second goal of the game to make it a 4-2 game.
The Tigers, who outshot the Eagles 23-17, cut the lead to one in the second period when Weller recorded a hat trick with a power play goal. Marshall again held Windom scoreless in the third period, but were unable to mount an offensive attack, falling to the Eagles 4-3. Carson Becker recorded 13 saves in the loss.
