SMSU SWIMMING AND DIVING: Bohnert earns All-NSIC honors for second straight day as SMSU concludes NSIC Championships

BISMARCK, N.D. — The Southwest Minnesota State University women’s swimming & diving team concluded its first-ever Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championship appearance on Saturday earning 106 points to finish in eighth place at the eight-team meet.

After making team history on Friday becoming the first Mustang to earn All-NSIC honors with a third place finish in the 100 yard backstroke, freshman Natalie Bohnert earned All-NSIC honors for the second straight night by finishing second in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:04.30.

SMSU finished its inaugural season at the Division II level competing in 11 meets and closed with a 3-6 dual meet record.

St. Cloud State won the team championship with 893.5 points. Minnesota State finished in second place (805.5), while Sioux Falls placed third (797).

The top three finalists in each individual event and top two finalists in each relay event will be recognized as NSIC All-Conference during the meet.
