BROOKFIELD, Ill. – Southwest Minnesota State University senior wide receiver Daniel Davis was named to the 2019 Don Hansen All-Super Region Three second team announced on Tuesday. It’s the second straight season Davis has been named to the all-region second team.

The Don Hansen team carries out the legacy of long-time small college football advocate Don Hansen, who passed away at age 75 on Aug. 29, 2010. Hansen, from Brookfield, Ill., started and published Don Hansen’s National Weekly Football Gazette for three decades, selecting NCAA Division II All-America teams for the first time in 1988. Don Hansen’s Football Gazette began selecting Division II All-Region squads in 2003.

This is the fourth major postseason award for Davis following the 2019 season. He previously was named first team All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, Conference Commissioners Association (CCA) All-Region second team and was named D2football.com honorable mention All-American.

A 5-foot-11, 175 pound native of Tarpon Springs, Fla., Davis finished the 2019 campaign leading the NSIC in both receptions (104) and receiving yards (1,337) for the second straight season. A two-time first team All-NSIC South honoree, Davis finished the season with a team-leading 10 touchdowns, with his receptions total ranking third in SMSU single-season history, while his receiving yards is the fourth highest in team single-season history.

Davis finished the season with seven 100-yard receiving games and in the final Division II national statistics, he ranked first in receptions per game (9.5), third in receiving yards per game (121.5), sixth in receiving yards, 24th in receiving touchdowns and 36th in all-purpose yards per game (129.6).

Southwest Minnesota State finished the season with a record of 3-8.
