PREP SPORTS ROUNDUP: Dawson-Boyd falls short to BOLD in section semifinals

OLIVIA — The No. 4 Dawson-Boyd football team fell to No. 1 BOLD 23-6 in the Section 5A semifinals on Saturday.

Brenden Stulz led the way for Dawson-Boyd with 71 passing yards and a touchdown while Josh Anyasike led in rushing with 64 yards and Micah Olson led in receiving with 47 yards while Romell Horton added 17 yards and a score.

With the loss, Dawson-Boyd ends its season with a 7-3 record.

SHERBURN — The No. 3 Wabasso football team fell to No. 2 Martin County West 14-7 on Saturday in the Section 3A semifinals.

Carter Benz led the way for the Rabbits with 92 passing yards and a touchdown while adding 29 yards on the ground. Nick Marotzke led in rushing with 33 yards on nine carries while Lance Wagner led in receiving with 36 yards and Will Carlson added 32 yards and a score.

With the loss, Wabasso ends its season with a 7-3 record.

COTTONWOOD — The No. 2N Lakeview volleyball team opened its Section 3A tournament play with a 3-0 victory over No. 7N YME on Friday night.

LeAnn Stensrud led the way for the Lakers with 17 kills while Savanna Louwagie added 10 and Kiana Imes had six. Louwagie led in digs with 12 while Sidney Geistfeld added 11. Kaitlin Fischer led in set assists with 35.

Jadyn Sakry and Shelby Mortenson led the way for the Sting with four kills each while Yansi Flores led in digs with 12 and Madison Hinz and Alli Steffen each adding 10. Hinz also led in set assists with 15.

With the loss, YME ends its season with a record of 9-13.

Lakeview will now face No. 3N Canby on Tuesday at 7:15 p.m.

Shelby Christensen led the way for the Rebels with 17 kills while Bryn Hoekman added nine and Brianna Schmitz had seven. Camdyn Kluis led in digs with 15 while Christensen added 14 and Brynn Graphenteen had 12. Graphenteen also led in set assists with 25.

MCC will face No. 2S TMB on Tuesday at 7:15 p.m. in Worthington.
