PREP SPORTS ROUNDUP: Vikings earn sweep over Jaguars

RENVILLE — Earlier this week, the Minneota Vikings edged out Kenyon-Wanamingo by one point for the top spot in the most recent Class A volleyball poll.

The Vikings left a little more room for comfort in Thursday’s match against Renville County West, sweeping the Jaguars 3-0 (25-11, 25-7, 25-15).

Natalee Rolbiecki posted a double-double with 11 kills and 12 digs to lead Minneota.

Abby Frie added nine kills in the win, while Ireland Stassen led the Vikings with 21 set assists.

Minneota (10-1) will host Central Minnesota Christian School on Tuesday.

RTR junior setter McKinley Schreurs recorded her 1,000th career assist in the win. She finished the match with 32 set assists.

Allie Christianson led the Knights with 11 kills. Haley Muenchow added eight kills and nine digs in the win.

RTR (7-2) travels to Pipestone Area on Monday.

Ballhandling duties were split evenly between Rachel Harding and Paige Nelson. Harding finished with 22 set assists while Nelson tallied 21 set assists for Canby.

Canby (6-0) travels to MACCRAY on Tuesday.
