PREP GIRLS SWIMMING: Marshall takes sixth at Laker Invite

MINNEAPOLIS – The Marshall girls swimming and diving team competed at the Laker Invite on Saturday, taking sixth place with a score of 194. Farmington took first with a score of 556, followed by Minneapolis Southwest in second (274), St. Paul Central in third (255) and a tie for fourth between (The) Blake School and St. Michael-Albertville (230).

In the 200 yard medley relay, the team of Mansi Bell, Maddie Larson, Alana Condezo, Emma Beavers took 16th with a time of 2:07.94 while the team of Alex Larson, Paige Milstead, Reagan Brandt and Jessica Wyffels took 26th with a time of 2:17.76. In the 200 yard freestyle, Lydia Hurst took seventh with a time of 2:08.63 while Brooklyn Gossen took 31st with a time of 2:24.68, Alex Larson took 39th (2:34.82) and Elizabeth Coudron took 42nd (2:49.65).

In the 200 yard individual medley, Nyssa Bentz took third with a time of 2:18.09 while Amelie Schmidtke took fourth with a time of 2:19.92, Maddie Larson took 20th with a time of 2:32.08 and Alli Kopitski took 23rd with a time of 2:34.31. In the 50 yard freestyle, Kaylie Stucke took 11th with a time of 27.26 seconds while Condezo took 34th with a time of 29.45 seconds and Olivia Williams took 44th with a time of 39.72 seconds.

In the 1 meter dive, Brandt took 15th with a score of 136.40 while Gossen took 23rd with a score of 108.40. In the 100 yard butterfly, Condezo took 21st with a time of 1:13.23 while Brandt took 25th with a time of 1:14.64, Milstead took 31st with a time of 1:20.90 and Wyffels took 34th with a time of 1:22.57.

In the 100 yard freestyle, Schmidtke took second with a time of 56.10 seconds while Clara Bader took 16th with a time of 1:01.75 and Emma Beavers tied for 20th with a time of 1:03.01. In the 500 yard freestyle, Stucke took fifth with a time of 5:40.90 while Hurst took sixth with a time of 5:46.24, Bell took 20th with a time of 6:10.50 and Wyffels took 36th with a time of 6:51.44.

In the 200 yard freestyle, the team of Schmidtke, Bentz, Hurst and Stucke tied for first with a time of 1:43.93, the team of Kopitski, Maddie Larson, Milstead and Bader took 17th with a time of 1:56.82 and the team of Mary Lanoue, Alex Larson, Gossen and Condezo took 32nd with a time of 2:07.97.

In the 100 yard backstroke, Bell took 13th with a time of 1:09.87 while Kopitski took 19th (1:12.31), Alex Larson took 32nd (1:17.89) and Coudron took 41st (1:33.33). In the 100 yard breaststroke, Bentz took seventh with a time of 1:14.14 while Beavers took 10th with a time of 1:16.09, Maddie Larson took 15th with a time of 1:18.33 and Milstead took 31st with a time of 1:24.70.

In the 400 yard freestyle relay, the team of Schmidtke, Bentz, Hurst and Stucke took second with a time of 3:50.61 while the team of Beavers, Kopitski, Bell and Bader took 17th with a time of 4:12.04 and the team of Brandt, Gossen, Coudron and Wyffels took 32nd with a time of 4:39.34.

Marshall will compete again today at St. Peter at 6 p.m.
