AMATEUR BASEBALL: Milroy Irish end season with 4-1 loss to Luverne

LUVERNE – The Milroy Irish amateur baseball team fell 4-1 in Game 2 of their best of three series against the Luverne Redbirds on Saturday. The loss marks the end of the 2019 season for the Irish.

After their game was suspended in the sixth inning Friday due to rain, the two teams picked things back up on Saturday afternoon. Luverne was able to get a run across in the bottom of the sixth to take a 2-1 lead before adding a pair of runs in the eighth to make it 4-1.

Jake Plaetz led the way for Milroy with a couple of hits and an RBI.

Milroy ends its season with a 25-10 record.
