MANKATO – Southwest Swim Club attended the 2019 Minnesota Long-Course Regional Championships in Mankato on July 19-21. The Regional Championships were attended by over 450 swimmers from 15 swim clubs across Minnesota.

To qualify for the meet, a swimmer must have achieved a Minnesota “B” time standard in an event. SSC had seven swimmers attend the Regional Championship meet in 27 individual events. Of these events, SSC had 12 personal best times, 14 Top 8 finishes, and four Regional Event Champions: Finley Pelz (50 Breast, 50 Fly) and Nicholas Dunn (200 Back, 400 IM). Other Top 8 finishers include Eme DeMuth and Austin Dunn. SSC also had two highpoint winners: Finley Pelz (1st Place 8 Under Girls) and Nicholas Dunn (2nd Place 17 & Over Boys). Overall, SSC’s team score finished eighth out of 10 swim clubs in the “A” Division.

Advancing to and competing in the 2019 Minnesota 14 & Under Long-Course State Championships in Rochester on July 27-28 is Finley Pelz. To qualify, a swimmer must have achieved a “CHAMP” time standard or were a regional champion.
