MILROY – A fielding error gave the Milroy Yankees a walk-off 5-4 victory over Wabasso on Friday night in Corn Belt League action.

Matt Bauer led the Milroy offense, going 2 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored. Bauer also pitched the last 5 2/3 innings for the Yankees and struck out six batters.

Sam Guetter went 2 for 4 with a double and two RBI to lead the Jaxx.

MILROY — The Milroy Irish only needed five innings to defeat Mountain Lake 11-1 in a postseason tune-up game.

Kenny Morris pitched four innings of no-hit ball with five strikeouts to earn the win, while Jake Byrne pitched the ninth inning.

Derek Riley went 2 for 2 with two RBI to lead the Irish offense. Dominic Dolan added two hits and two RBI in the win.

RUTHTON — Jackson defeated Ruthton 8-3 in Game 2 of the First Nite/Gopher League playoffs on Friday.

The win clinched the series sweep for Jackson, while Ruthton’s season comes to a close.

Jackson moves on to the Region 13C Tournament on Wednesday against a team to be determined.
